LUBBOCK, Texas — Two Lubbock teachers are heading to Kerrville this weekend with more than just a heart to serve. They’re bringing thousands of dollars in supplies for families recovering from devastating floods thanks to donations from the community and the generosity of a local, family-owned business.

Traci Payne and Autumn Aldrich, both educators at Trinity Christian School, will volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse beginning Monday, helping clean up flood-damaged homes in Kerrville and surrounding areas. The women previously led a disaster relief trip to North Carolina and said they felt called to serve again after seeing the destruction in Central Texas.
“When we saw what was happening, we just knew we had to go,” Payne said. “We started planning, and the community stepped in immediately.”
