LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Little change in the weather pattern is expected through tomorrow. Both today and tomorrow will be hot. Both days, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated to return each afternoon.
Once again, I expect a slight drop in peak temperatures today. Still, the afternoon will be hot. And humid. Like recent days, the heat and humidity will fuel some thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Some storms/showers are likely to linger into the following morning.
Though the severe weather threat is low, like recent days, much of the area will remain dry while a few spots may receive a quick downpour. Some storms also may produce strong wind gusts.
A weakening in the high pressure over the area has brought about the the daily thunderstorms and showers as well as the dip in temperatures. As the pattern shifts back to increasing high pressure, rain chances will drop and temperatures will climb.
The chance of measurable rain at any given location in the KCBD/FOX34 viewing area today through Thursday night is about 20 percent, with a slightly greater potential over the western viewing area…
