LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The South Plains area will continue to bake under high temperatures in the 90s to around 100 degrees today, this weekend, and into next week. The pattern bringing the heat also will limit rain chances.
Drenching Rains
There was some heavy rainfall in the viewing area late yesterday. Training of thunderstorms, when more than one storm passes over the same area (like the cars of a train passing one after another), led to an estimated 5 inches of rain just west of Caprock Canyons State Park.
Several spots across the northern half of the KCBD/FOX34 viewing area received an estimated one-half to more than one inch of rain…
