Lubbock, Texas – A hot and breezy Saturday could turn stormy in parts of the South Plains, where isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, bringing gusty winds and brief downpours.
According to the National Weather Service in Lubbock, isolated showers and storms could develop after 1 p.m. across areas including Lubbock, Briscoe, Hale, and Terry counties. The strongest cells may produce gusts up to 30 mph and short bursts of heavy rain, particularly along the Caprock. Storm chances taper off after 10 p.m. tonight.
While the probability for widespread hazardous weather remains low, heat will be a bigger concern across West Texas.
