Grass fire spreads to RVs in Northeast Lubbock, multiple agencies respond

LUBBOCK, Texas— Lubbock Fire Rescue and multiple agencies responded to a Wednesday afternoon fire that left one person injured near the 4200 block of North Guava Avenue.

Crews first responded to a grass fire that quickly spread to several RVs. According to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call around 4:05 p.m., and Abernathy, Buffalo Springs Lake, Idalou, New Deal, Roosevelt and Wolfforth volunteer fire departments were dispatched to assist in dealing with the fire.

One person was taken to the hospital for minor burn injuries. As of 6:30 p.m., the fire has been contained and extinguished.
