SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — With the passing and signing of the Rescissions Act of 2025, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) will be shut down.

The CPB funds public radio and television stations across the country, with close to half of them being considered rural. South Plains Radio, which is in Lubbock and Grape Creek, according to the CPB website, will be affected by these cuts.
KTTZ 89.1 FM is operated by Texas Tech University and is the only public radio station servicing the area.
