LUBBOCK, Texas–TxDOT’s Operation Slowdown campaign aims to reduce traffic crashes in Texas. From July 18 to Sunday, August 3, officers will issue tickets and spend additional time on the roads to remind motorists about safe driving speeds.
This year’s “Be Safe. Drive Smart” speeding prevention campaign featured Lubbock native Lanisa Dehn.
EverythingLubbock.com reported in 2020 that Dehn had tragically lost her 84-year-old mother, Opal “June” Linker, in a crash related to speeding.
