LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock man, Kaleb Saldana, 28, was arrested Wednesday for assaulting a woman and threatening multiple people after locking them in a motel room, according to court documents.
Records show that police received a call from the Alpha Motel on 24th Street for a civil disturbance that saw a “male beat her sister up, took their phones and held them in a room.”
Documents said that officers found Saldana and a victim on the 3700 block of Avenue G where the victim – who had a protective order against Saldana – had several visible injuries and Saldana had a visible injury from what he said was a bottle to the face. Officers reported that Saldana had an alcoholic smell on his breath and passed out before being transported to the University Medical Center.

According to court documents, the victim, Saldana and two others were staying at the Alpha Motel together when Saldana started arguing with the victim over an unknown person messaging the victim. Saldana then locked the group in the room, took their phones and threatened to kill the three other people in the room before assaulting the main victim.
Records show that one of the other victims in the room tried to prevent any further violence by hitting Saldana in the face with a liqueur bottle before Saldana fled the scene with the assaulted victim.
