A famous restaurant that has Chicago roots is under construction in Lubbock.
Portillo’s officially broke ground recently and the building, behind The Plaza Restaurant off the Marsha Sharp Freeway and Milwaukee, has started going up.

Last October we learned that Portillo’s, famous for their Chicago-style hotdogs and sandwiches, would be adding a location in Lubbock. Over the last few years, Portillo’s has been spreading across the United States, adding numerous locations in Texas.
Portillo’s was founded in Illinois in 1963 and has grown in the number of locations over the last few years.
