LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A surprise to city staff in calculations from the Lubbock Central Appraisal District led to a detour on budget work at city hall, and cancelation of Wednesday’s hearing.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Lubbock city manager Jarrett Atkinson said during Tuesday’s work session.
He explained that earlier in each year LCAD provides him with a preliminary value of property across the city, followed a few months later by delivery of certified value. These figures are used to craft the next year’s budget…
