Employee thrown, dragged during game room robbery; Lubbock man charged

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock man, Jaylan Isaiah Russell, 23, was booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center on Wednesday for an aggravated robbery at a game room in February 2023.

According to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Thursday, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s office deputies were called to a game room in the 1500 block of East Farm-to-Market Road 1585 when a woman played two different slot machines before holding the door for Russell and another man to come in with semi-automatic pistols.

Records said one of the men then threw a woman working at the game room to the ground before Russell and the other man pointed their guns at two employees while a third ran to “either an office or closet” to lock himself inside. The woman that let the two in got in the car that Russell and the other man were in and left.

One man, according to documents, took a FannyPack with money in it from the employee that was thrown to the ground and dragged her to the wall by her shirt and hair while the other man took a large plastic tote from behind the counter.
