LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – After an afternoon of record-breaking heat Saturday, Sunday will start a cooling trend, but it will still be hot.
The afternoon high temperature in Lubbock topped out at 105° on Saturday, breaking the previous record of 103° set in 2011.
Southwesterly winds and cloud coverage will keep temperatures warm Saturday night and highs on Sunday afternoon, with both running a few degrees above normal.
Isolated showers were brief Saturday afternoon for the northwestern portion of the viewing area, and the rest of tonight should remain dry.
