Lubbock woman shot twice after altercation, court documents said

LUBBOCK, Texas — Court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Monday detailed the shooting of Sonia Green, 54, on Thursday, leading to the arrest of 47-year-old Maurice King.

Previously, LPD said there had been an altercation between Green and King, and King shot her.

The court documents said on Thursday at 10 p.m., the Lubbock Police Department received a dispatch call from Green saying King had shot her twice and that “he was going to kill her.”

According to our previous reports, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Municipal Drive for shots fired. Court documents said officers saw King leaving the residence.

When officers tried talking to King, he was hesitant to speak, according to court documents. He eventually said a female was inside and gave officers consent to enter the home for a welfare check. Officers opened the front door and found Green with several injuries…
