Lubbock church burglarized, loses $25K in equipment amid renovations

LUBBOCK, Texas — New Hope Church on Indiana Avenue was burglarized over the weekend, with thieves stealing roughly $25,000 worth of musical and livestream equipment, church officials said Monday.

Senior Pastor Michelle Schubert said the break-in was discovered early Sunday morning, just hours before the church’s scheduled worship service.

“We found our sanctuary empty of all of our equipment, computers, musical instruments, everything we would need to run a Sunday morning,” Schubert said.

The stolen items include guitars, keyboards, microphones, computers, cameras, a soundboard and contractors’ tools, all essential for Sunday worship and ongoing renovations…
