Lubbock man arrested after shooting at officers during chase

LUBBOCK, Texas — Adam Garcia, 19, of Lubbock was arrested and charged with multiple offenses on Saturday after he led officers on a chase throughout North Lubbock.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, Garcia was driving a vehicle without headlights on 19th Street, leading the LPD officer to engage him into a traffic stop. Once engaged, Garcia proceeded to accelerate in attempt to evade the officer, the report continued. After navigating through several North Lubbock streets, Garcia reached outside of the vehicle and fired three to four shots at the officer around the intersection of 22nd Street or 23rd Street and University Ave.

Garcia continued to flee after firing toward the officer, eventually ending the chase at the 4600 block of 19th Street. Once the vehicle was stopped, the responding officers conducted a felony stop where Garcia was arrested. Upon searching Garcia’s vehicle, they located a 9mm shell casing, additional bullets and around five ounces of marijuana…
