Over the past week, Texas Tech Police Department officers have reported three instances of suspects attempting to evade arrest, both on foot and in vehicles.
In one case, a non-student fled on foot after allegedly stealing firearms and burglarizing a vehicle, while another incident saw two students — one in a vehicle, another on foot — trying to escape officers following alcohol related offenses.
All three suspects were quickly apprehended and are now saddled with evading charges. Evading on foot is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by fines or up to a year in jail, while evading by motor vehicle escalates the charge to a felony punishable up to two years…
