LUBBOCK, Texas — After years of planning, fundraising for Lubbock’s downtown Civic Park is closer than ever to the finish line.
Fundraising chair Brad Moran said the project is now just $400,000 away from reaching the $9.2 million needed to begin construction. The overall goal is $12.4 million, which includes endowment and operational funds, but $9.2 million will allow work to begin.
“We have been fortunate enough to have a couple of good-sized gifts in the past month, and that’s moved us closer,” Moran said. “And we are literally about $400,000 away from breaking ground.”…
