Texas Tech University offering new degree focused on Artificial Intelligence

LUBBOCK, Texas– Artificial Intelligence technology is rapidly advancing and changing the way we live and work. This fall semester, Texas Tech University is now offering a new degree focused on Human Centered A.I. The goal of this degree program is to help students learn to utilize A.I. while putting people first and understand how to use this tool ethically and effectively.

The Bachelor of Science in Human Centered A.I. degree program currently has 25 students enrolled with more expected to be accepted and join next session in October. Ashlee Brown is the Assistant Vice Provost for Texas Tech online learning and said this program blends computer science and communication ethics.

“This program takes the math, the computer science and the programming, but it also adds the human component of communication ethics, social responsibility and it allows us to help identify how this brand new technology can positively effect humankind,” Brown said.
