Lubbock woman arrested in Amarillo for trying to run over father, daughter with car

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Amarillo police officers arrested a Lubbock woman yesterday for an incident where they say she attempted to run over a father and child with her car.

Maritza Brito-Mellinger was booked into Randall County Detention Center last night on an arrest warrant for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The charge is a second-degree felony in the state of Texas and carries a punishment range of 2 to 20 years in prison…
