LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – For the rest of Wednesday, we are still tracking the slim potential for isolated showers in the western portion of the viewing area.
This will most likely occur late evening and overnight into Thursday, as showers from Eastern New Mexico try to make their way into our region.
We had a hot afternoon today, but Thursday is on track to be even hotter. Early Thursday, low temperatures should be in the 60s for most of the region.
A weak front will be entering the Texas Panhandle and stalling, so the only effects we will likely see will be cloud coverage periodically throughout the day on Thursday.
High temperatures will not be noticeably cooler on Thursday, with most of the region seeing mid-to-upper 90s and then low 100s.
The record for Thursday’s date is 102°, so record-breaking heat will not be out of the question…
