LUBBOCK, Texas— Xavier Ramirez, 22, was arrested on Thursday on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after shooting into a residence in Southwest Lubbock.
Lubbock police were called to the 4400 block of 85th Street after someone close to Ramirez reported that they had gotten into an argument. His friend had advised that the argument had escalated before he went into the restroom. When he stepped out of the restroom, he noticed Ramirez was no longer in the apartment and heard gunshots coming from the parking lot.
Officers at the scene spoke with witnesses who reported seeing a white van speeding away immediately after the shots were fired. According to a friend of Ramirez, his father was driving a colored SUV, and both of them were located in the 4300 block of 42nd Street.

The affidavit showed that officers located multiple shell casings from the scene and one unspent casing. While police were locating the shell casings, a victim advised that she and her daughters were also inside the residence when it was shot. Officers noticed several bullet holes in the apartment walls and windows, including one round that went through a window and into the headboard of the bed where the victim’s daughters were sleeping…
