LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – When using rideshare services, safety is a top priority. Caitlynn Jeffries with the Texas Tech Police Department has some safety tips when it comes to these services, and the first is to confirm the identity of anybody you’re getting in the car with.
“There could be people out there that are looking to commit fraud and and looking to victimize people that are looking for these rideshare options,” Jeffries said. “You always want to make sure that it is the correct vehicle that is pulling up. Also, when you get into the vehicles, verifying the driver’s name, making sure it matches our app.”
