LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – After a cloudy start to the week, the South Plains is about to feel more like late summer again.
The stratus clouds from earlier this morning have since burned off leaving skies clear with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Most of the region will stay dry tonight, but if you’re northeast of Lubbock around Hall or Cottle counties, there’s a slight chance a storm may drift into your region from the north. The best ingredients for activity remain to the north of our viewing area.
For most, it’s a quiet evening with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the 60s near 70s.
When you wake up Tuesday, expect a mild start with mainly clear skies. There’s a small chance for low lying clouds near Lubbock, Childress, or Plainview around sunrise, but it won’t stick around for long. Sunshine takes over quickly, setting the stage for a noticeably warmer afternoon…
