LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock mom says it takes a village to raise children with special needs and she wants families to know exactly how to find theirs. She’s hosting a conference and resource fair to connect parents with the resources they need.
Last year, the Curtsinger family was raising money to “Rally for Rylan.” The then-three-month-old with Down Syndrome and a congenital heart defect needed open heart surgery. The community helped them raise $20,000, so they could focus on his healing instead of the hospital bill.
“We didn’t really have to worry about anything financially, we were able to focus on our kids and focus on getting down there and getting things done and his healing. So, it was really, really awesome,” mom Amanda Curtsinger said…
