Lubbock woman indicted for arson after July fire

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock County grand jury on Tuesday indicted a woman whose accused of starting a fire in Lubbock in late July.

Mindy Villarreal, 33, was indicted on a charge of Arson.

According to Lubbock Fire and Rescue, Villarreal, 33, was arrested in late July in relation to a fence fire in the 1300 block of 59th Street on July 30.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire without it spreading to nearby structures.

The Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the cause, and eyewitness information led investigators to Villarreal, a suspect who had left the scene. Villarreal was charged with arson and taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center…
