Lubbock Police Department sees juvenile alcohol offenses climb up

LUBBOCK, Texas — LPD had 42 juvenile alcohol charges made so far in 2025, which was already more than 2024 and 2023 in each of their respective years. Lieutenant Brady Cross with LPD explained the importance of understanding the seriousness of the offense.

“Whether it’s family member or friend uh providing it to you, providing a fake ID at a retailer, and even sometimes we see beer runs. Unfortunately, some of the even younger offenders will go in and steal it, and so, no matter how you come about it, it’s a crime and it poses a problem and a threat, and so, we just asked that everyone, you know, it’s starting at home, educating your kids,” Lt. Cross said.

According to Cross, a minor under 21 years old who was caught consuming or possessing alcohol could get a Class C Misdemeanor…
