SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Lake View Chiefs are off to their best start in more than four decades after pulling off a nail-biting 50-49 win over the Lubbock Westerners in their homecoming game Friday night at San Angelo Stadium.
Lubbock turned the ball over on downs on the opening drive, setting up Lake View’s first score. Running back Izaiah Rios found the end zone for the first of his three first-half touchdowns, putting the Chiefs on top 7-0.

Lubbock responded quickly with a touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7. The two teams traded blows throughout a high-scoring first half that saw 56 combined points. The game was tied 28-28 at halftime.
Rios finished with four touchdowns, including a pivotal 95-yard run midway through the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs a 44-42 lead.
