Lubbock high-speed chase ends in arrest; stolen rifles recovered

LUBBOCK, Texas–Documents revealed that 34-year-old, Shane Allen Ryan Lester, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. Lester previously pleaded guilty to Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

On January 26, 2025, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) received a call from a Texas Ranger about a burglary in Knox County, Texas. The Texas Ranger suspected Shane Allen Ryan Lester and another man of breaking into a business there and stealing 20 assault rifles. Law enforcement believed that Lester was in Lubbock, Texas with stolen firearms. The Texas Ranger provided LCSO with two possible addresses for Lester in Lubbock.

At 10:15 p.m., an LCSO deputy saw Lester’s truck. The deputy attempted to stop Lester’s vehicle, but Lester sped away. Lester led multiple law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase throughout Lubbock. The chase lasted 10 minutes. The chase ended when Lester crashed his vehicle into a sport utility vehicle…
