Looking for a kitten? Not for long…
Welcome to Lubbock, where parking lots are essentially open-air adoption centers. It doesn’t matter if you’re at Target, Dollar General, Taco Villa, or Walmart — you’ll almost always find a furry little friend feasting on old French fries and desperately looking for love. Like swallowing a mouthful of dirt mid-sentence, rescuing a kitten or a puppy roaming solo in a Lubbock parking lot is a rite of passage…
Spot A Furry Baby?
It all starts with “Here, kitty, kitty…” and ends with you at PetSmart, 5 minutes before the store closes. You’re at the counter checking out with an armload of stuff that you swore you wouldn’t even need a basket for. You even grabbed your new baby a costume for Halloween. (She’ll make an excellent bumblebee, btw. I know it was a tough call. That dino costume was presh. You made the right choice.)
No Short Supply
Locals around here all know where to find a new pet, and that’s basically anywhere.
We’ve got so many stray animals looking for homes in Lubbock right now, it’s a terrible shame, BUT it’s also an opportunity to bring one home to love!…
