The university has made public an updated version of its iconic “Double T” logo, part of a wider rebrand that has been fueled by a major NIL cash boost and some ambitious image makeovers. The result? A simplified design that drops the black shadowing and bold contrast in favor of flat red-on-red letters. It’s cleaner, sure, but fans think it’s lost its bite.

For decades, that pure mix of black, white, and red made the Double T a bit exceptional in college football. Now, it looks a lot like something fans have seen elsewhere, Utah, Temple, take your pick. One could say it feels like deja vu, just like when Notre Dame revealed its new football logo for the 2025 season.
