As the sunset behind the United Supermarkets Arena casted shadows over Urbanovsky Park, the darkness was illuminated by the flames of Texas Tech’s annual Homecoming bonfire.
“It’s lighting the fire of our hearts,” said Andrew Vaughan, a fourth-year public relations major from Georgetown and one of the top five Homecoming king candidates. “ …When we light the fire, we can all stand around as Red Raiders, as one big community and family, and enjoy watching something burn and have a good time.”
