LUBBOCK, Texas — Patrick Bradley, 53, and Tony Johnson, 42, have now been accused of murdering Clifton Holmon, 39, in a shooting at an afterhours spot in Central Lubbock in 2023, according to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com.

Jail records showed Bradley was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for a murder charge on October 10. Thomas was served a murder warrant while already in federal custody for a firearm charge. EverythingLubbock.com previously reported on February 11, 2023, officers were called to the 1300 block of 35th Street around 3:01 a.m. for reports of shots fired. Court documents said the shooting took place at an afterhours spot. The Lubbock Police Department said Holman was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
Arrest made in connection with deadly Lubbock Airbnb shooting
Court documents indicated Holman’s shooting was connected to a homicide that happened in 2022. According to court documents, a witness told police Bradley and Holmon exchanged words about the 2022 homicide at CC’s Bar and Grill. After the heated interaction, Holmon and a family member went to the afterhours spot on 35th Street. Court documents said a witness told police that Bradley and Johnson also went to 35th Street and were seen approaching Holmon’s group. Holman’s family member told police that Bradley pulled out a large pistol. The family member said he started to run when he saw Bradley point the gun at him and shoot. According to court records, Holmon’s family member drove to the 8200 block of Raleigh Avenue, where he said someone was shooting at him again. Police were called and found his vehicle with multiple bullet holes. Casings found on 35th Street matched the casings found on Raleigh Avenue, court records said. According to court records, Johnson was also at the apartment complex on Raleigh Avenue when shots were fired. A witness said Johnson went to the car to get something and then gunshots were heard. Johnson came back to the apartment and then left in an unknown direction. Court documents said when police spoke with Johnson, he denied being present when Holmon was shot.
Bradley spoke with police in 2023 when he turned himself in for the aggravated assault warrant. Bradley indicated he was close with the victim who was killed back in 2022. Court records said Bradley believed Holmon and his family member played a role in the 2022 homicide. Bradley denied having a gun, but said there was a firearm in Johnson’s car. Bradley’s aggravated assault charge was for shooting at Holmon’s family member at the afterhours spot. This was the first time Bradley was charged with murdering Holmon.
Court documents said cellphone data showed Bradley and the other man were in the area of 1300 35th Street at the time of Holmon’s murder and in the 4400 block of 82nd Street at the time of the second shooting.
As of Wednesday, Bradley remained at LCDC on a $250,000 bond. Johnson remained in federal custody…
