LUBBOCK, Texas — We have now been seeing the Texas Tech Pom Squad dancing and representing Texas Tech University for 50 years. They first started off as a small campus spirit group but have since grown into a nationally and internationally known team.
“The amount of progress we’ve made in representing Texas Tech with the dance team is incredible to me,” TTU Spirit Program Director Stephanie Rhode said.
The head coach of the pom squad, Erin Alvarado, said her goal for the team as head coach was to create an identity that set them apart from the cheerleaders.
