Man arrested on felony theft charge Tuesday after 9 prior convictions

LUBBOCK, Texas — William James, 39, was arrested Tuesday, October 21, on a felony theft charge for stealing more than $2,500 with more than 2 prior convictions. A review of James’ record also shows 9 prior theft convictions.

According to documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, while LPD was searching for a stolen diesel trailer and James, a license plate for the stolen trailer was located inside James’ personal Ford F-250 truck.

An LPD detective recalled a similar trailer being at James’ residence and sent two detectives to James’ residence in the 5100 block of 37th Street to locate the trailer. Upon arrival, the trailer was located and identified as the stolen trailer in the case…
