Lubbock area churches gather shoebox gifts for children in need

LUBBOCK, Texas–“Operation Christmas Child” has a mission to help children around the world with shoebox gifts each holiday season, and the Lubbock area can help.

Each year, Samaritan’s Purse partners with churches around the globe to “deliver these tangible expressions of God’s love to children in need,” according to a press release. This year, churches in Lubbock, Floydada, Levelland, Plainview and Seminole will collect shoebox gifts.

The community can pack a shoebox gift filled with toys, school supplies, and personal care items and drop it off. The location of churches and drop-off locations, along with times, can be found here.

Participants can get creative with their gift or use the online tool to select gifts matched to a child’s specific age and gender. Participates are also encouraged to pray over the child who will receive the shoebox…
