LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Several streets will be closed for a majority of the morning Sunday as the annual Lubbock Marathon takes place.
The marathon begins at 8 a.m. at Buddy & Maria Elena Holly Plaza. Some streets will close to accommodate runners throughout the event.
Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer said the event showcases the community’s spirit and hospitality.
“I encourage all of our citizens to be vigilant and to make way for the runners and keep them safe and to appreciate the fact that we have the opportunity to sponsor this and participate in it every year,” McBrayer said. “It’s more than a race, it’s a showcase of our community, our friendliness, our hospitality, and our spirit.”…
