Lubbock Sprinkler Laws Every Citizen Must Know

The City of Lubbock has issued a reminder to all citizens regarding the violations tied to running a sprinkler during freezing weather. It’s not just because they’re bored and want to mess with you, there’s actually a pretty good reason that has to do with public safety.

Sprinkler Violations in Lubbock

According to chapters 22 and 39 of Lubbock ordinances, homeowners/renters shall not operate their sprinklers during sub-freezing temperatures.

Why? Because the runoff could spread to the roads and freeze, causing unsafe slippery conditions for Lubbock drivers. It can also lead to freezing puddles on sidewalks that pose safety hazards for pedestrians and those confined to wheelchairs/crutches.
