LUBBOCK, Texas–A fire broke out at the block of 8000 Hartford Avenue around 1:44 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. It is unclear what started the fire.
20-year-old woman missing in Lubbock, police seek public’s help
Lubbock Fire and Rescue responded with a statement:
“At approximately 1:30pm, Lubbock Fire Rescue received a report of a possible residential structure fire near the intersection of 82nd Street and Hartford Avenue. The 911 caller advise that there were active flames coming from the garage. Station 17 arrived first on scene to a small single story residential structure with heavy fire coming from the front of the residence. Engine 17 made entry for fire control while Truck 17 made entry for primary search. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire while keeping a majority of the fire in the garage and kitchen. Lubbock Fire Rescue’s Fire Marshal’s Office found in their investigation that there was an extension cord feeding from the pantry of the home to the garage with several surge protectors and appliances plugged into them.”…
