LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Meals on Wheels is reminding the community to carefully read donation requests to make sure that donations are going where you intend, asking the community to look for Lubbock Meals on Wheels. Executive Director of Lubbock Meals on Wheels, Lisa Gilliland, explained the difference between Lubbock Meals on Wheels, and Meals on Wheels of America (MOWA).
“Meals on Wheels of America does not provide meal service. They are a lobbying organization, and they provide conferences and support to different meal programs. We receive zero funding from them,” Gilliland said.
