LUBBOCK, TX – An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a convenience store shooting in central Lubbock, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, SWAT, and the Texas Anti-Gang Unit.
The shooting happened around 5:08 a.m. on November 2 at a convenience store in the 4400 block of 34th Street. Officers arrived to find a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her legs. She was transported by EMS to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Investigators say the victim was standing outside the store when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Ricky Cerna pulled up with a female passenger. The woman reportedly went inside to ask about using the restroom but was denied and returned to the car.
