LUBBOCK, Texas–At a time when families are struggling to make ends meet due to rising costs and limited resources, Catholic Charities of Lubbock has received a $5,000 donation from Wellpoint for the agency’s Emergency Food Pantry.

The Catholic Charities Emergency Food Pantry serves hundreds of individuals and families each month who are facing food insecurity. Between the months of August through October of this year alone, the food pantry distributed 2,450 instances of food assistance. The donation from Wellpoint will help ensure that shelves remain stocked with nutritious food for those who turn to the organization for help. .
“Wellpoint’s generosity will make a real difference for families in crisis,” said Cynthia Quintanilla Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Lubbock. “We are so thankful for their continued partnership and commitment to helping the community. Their support allows us to continue providing food and basic necessities for our neighbors who need it most.”
