If you’re heading to the game — or even just hanging out near the GameDay set — here’s what you need to know to make sure you’re dressed for the occasion.
Stripe the Stadium: Red or White?
Texas Tech Athletics is calling on fans to help “Stripe the Stadium” this Saturday. Each section inside Jones AT&T Stadium has been assigned a color — either red or white — so that when the cameras pan across the crowd, the stadium looks like one giant wall of Red Raider pride.
You can check your section’s color assignment on the official Texas Tech Athletics website (texastech.com), but the short version is simple:
-
If your section says RED, break out your best scarlet gear.
-
If your section says WHITE, grab a crisp white tee or jersey and get ready to shine.
The Energy Is Already Building
Students have already started camping out at Jones AT&T Stadium to lock down the best spots — not just for the game, but also for a chance to get near the College GameDay set. Tents, folding chairs, and plenty of Red Raider spirit have popped up around campus as excitement continues to build toward kickoff.
Saturday’s matchup will air at 11 a.m. on ABC, but the celebration is going to start long before that. Between GameDay, tailgating, and the “Stripe the Stadium” theme, expect the entire area around campus to feel like one big party.
Bottom Line: Paint the Town Red (and White)
Whether you’re sitting inside the stadium or watching from your favorite spot in Lubbock, wear your colors proudly. The whole country’s watching, and this is the perfect chance to show why Lubbock bleeds scarlet and black.
So gear up, get loud, and let’s make sure the cameras catch the best fans in college football doing what we do best — showing up and showing out for our Texas Tech Red Raiders…
