LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Independent School District announced that the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Rick Rodriguez, is retiring. His last day with the district is scheduled to be on March 13, 2026.
Rodriguez joined Lubbock ISD back in 2009 as the assistant superintendent of human resources, and over the past three decades served in various roles in public education across the state of Texas. He stepped into his COO role in 2009.
