LUBBOCK, Texas — On Saturday November 8, the atmosphere at the Denny’s restaurant on Slide Road was normal until a car drove through the back of the dining room. Audri Aguero was inside the Denny’s with her brother waiting to pay when it happened.
“We were just about to pay, and we heard a loud crash and boom…the car was coming straight toward us because we were literally right there…people were screaming because they were scared, they didn’t know what was going to happen to the building,” Aguero said.
Employees of the Denny’s who spoke off camera said the restaurant being closed is devastating. This restaurant is their means of providing for themselves and their families and now missing out on serving customers for several days is taking its toll…
