LUBBOCK, Texas — Catelyn Pina, 23, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault causing Serious Bodily Injury in connection with the 2021 shooting that took the life of Domingo Siri, 30.
Pina was initially accused of murder. She took an open plea on Wednesday for the aggravated assault charge through a complainant information. The judge accepted the plea, and withheld finding of guilt until January, which is when Pina will learn her sentence. Pina faces a sentence ranging from two to 20 years in prison. As of Wednesday, she remains out of jail on bond.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported officers were called to the 1600 block of 28th Street on September 1, 2021. Two victims were found with gunshot wounds. Siri was pronounced dead at the scene. Cleotis Johnson, 20 at the time, was found with moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital. According to court records, multiple people, including some children, were outside in the driveway when a vehicle fired shots at them.
Suspect apprehended after Northeast Lubbock shooting with serious injuries
A tip to the Crime Line in 2022 named Pina and her boyfriend, Adam Villarreal, 22, as suspects. Police located Pina, who admitted to driving Villarreal’s car when the shooting happened. Pina said another person had asked Villarreal for a ride. According to court records, Pina said she was told where to drive.
Cell phone records placed Villarreal and Pina in the area of the shooting when it happened, court documents stated. Court records said shell casings collected at the scene matched those found in Villarreal’s vehicle.
