LUBBOCK, Texas— Twenty-year-old Jesse Gonzales was arrested Saturday on two charges of Kidnapping, one charge of Evading Arrest, and one charge of Reckless Driving after impersonating an Uber driver, kidnapping two women and leading officers on a short police chase.
According to an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, an officer conducting bar checks early Saturday morning observed a vehicle driving recklessly northbound on University Avenue. The driver, identified as Gonzales, then led officers on a brief chase that concluded at the intersection of Marsha Sharp and Avenue V, where the officer initiated a stop.

The police arrested Gonzales after removing three passengers from his vehicle. Two women were taken out of the car, visibly upset and crying, and told officers they did not know Gonzales, according to court documents.
