Job cuts announced at Lubbock’s United Supermarkets headquarters

LUBBOCK, Texas— United Supermarkets is eliminating 126 jobs from its main office in Lubbock, including multiple director roles, marketing roles and support desk, according to a Houston Chronicle article published on Thursday.

United Supermarkets issued a WARN notice to the Texas Workforce Commission on Nov. 17, stating that these changes will be made no sooner than Jan. 19, 2026, as part of a “reduction in force,” the article says.

“We will make every effort to place affected team members into alternative positions throughout our organization,” read the notice. “The restructuring process will be implemented gradually over the coming months, and is expected to conclude on or about July 2026, with remaining team members continuing their employment at this location.”…
