Your Guide to Record Store Black Friday in Lubbock

Record Store Black Friday is once again giving Lubbock vinyl fans a chance to hunt for exclusive releases, limited-edition pressings, and other rare collectables. The event has become a seasonal tradition for vinyl aficionados and casual listeners alike, offering a unique twist on the typical Black Friday rush.

What Makes Record Store Black Friday Unique

RSD Black Friday is unique because it only happens at local, independent record stores. These items are not available online* or at chains and tend to go quick, so the earlier you can get to RSD Black Friday, the better. There are live albums, singles, huge multi-vinyl sets (like an enticing Dwight Yoakum 4 vinyl collection), cassettes, and more.

Since these items are so rare, its a bit of a lottery as to which record store will get what releases, so there’s an element of surprise. Enjoy the hunt!

*of course, there will be resellers later, but then you are paying way more than list price.

What Titles Will Be Available?

A huge list of RSD exclusive releases can be seen here. There are many releases I’m excited for, and I’m really hoping I can get my mitts on the Ween record. I have a friend I really need to try to get the Creed Live in San Antonio 1999 record for. The Wicked 4 Good soundtrack picture disc will have musical types at the record store, too. Truly the list is impressive and exciting, and there is something for every type of music lover. I recommend you check it out and make a list beforehand so you can be organized once you get to the record store.
