EXTENDED FORECAST:

There are still quite a few details that need to be ironed out, but we can essentially guarantee that the coldest air we’ve seen so far this season will move into the region Saturday into Sunday. As a result, we have issued a Weather Aware Day for Sunday. This Weather Aware Day is STRICTLY for colder temperatures! Some areas could see wind chills in the single digits, with a few locations seeing temperatures at or below freezing for as many as 12-18 consecutive hours. Highs will fall from the 50s and 60s on Saturday to the 30s to low 50s Sunday through Tuesday. We may even see some light wintry precipitation Monday into Tuesday. As of now, this precipitation is expected to remain light, and not result in any major travel issued across the region. Morning lows will fall as low as the low teens for some, with most areas remaining in the upper 10s to upper 20s. Once again, details still need to be fine tuned over the next several days.
