LUBBOCK, Texas– CitiBus riders who rely on paratransit and on-demand service will see new fares beginning Jan. 1, 2026, as part of a city-approved update aimed at maintaining long-term service and aligning Lubbock with national transit standards.
The changes were approved by the Lubbock City Council during the 2026 budget process and are tied to CitiBus’ five-year service plan, adopted in November 2024. Officials say the new fare structure balances affordability for short trips while helping CitiBus keep up with rising operational costs.
